The report shows that in the past seven years, China's digital rural development foundation has become more solid, and the new rural digital economy is developing at an accelerated pace. Since 2019, China has continued to promote communication infrastructure construction in rural and remote areas. From the end of 2018 to the end of 2025, the Internet penetration rate in rural areas increased from 38.4% to 69.5%, and the gap between urban and rural Internet penetration rates narrowed from 36.2% to 15.6%.
