12:14 AM EDT, 08/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Hutchmed (China) (HCM.L) on Monday reported positive high-level results from the Sanovo China phase 3 trial of Orpathys, or savolitinib, plus Tagrisso, or Osimertinib, in treatment-naïve patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. The trial assessed the savolitinib and osimertinib combination against osimertinib monotherapy in patients with tumors harboring epidermal growth factor receptor with MET overexpression, the biopharmaceutical company noted. The China study showed statistically significant and highly clinically meaningful improvement in progression-free survival, as well as a very encouraging clinical benefit in overall survival. The safety profile is in line with known profiles for each component of the combination formulation. The results will be presented at an upcoming medical meeting. Hutchmed is developing Orpathys in collaboration with fellow drugmaker AstraZeneca (AZN.L, AZN.ST), which holds the commercialization rights to the drug.
