Edison said in a statement confirming the previous regulatory notice that Qatar Energy has extended the force majeure period for Italian Edison's liquefied natural gas supply until the beginning of November. The delay affected an additional five cargo ships that were originally scheduled to be shipped to the Italian Adriatic LNG terminal. From April to early November, the total number of affected cargo ships reached 29 batches, corresponding to about 3.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas. As of August 28, Edison has completed gas source replacement for 21 cargo ships, corresponding to about 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Edison said it will continue to monitor developments. Note: Edison has signed a 25-year gas supply contract with Qatar Energy, with an annual gas supply capacity of 6.4 billion cubic meters.
