At about 10:30 on August 26, a landslide disaster occurred on the Nepalese side, causing serious casualties and loss of connectivity at Geelong Port in Jilong County, Shigatse City, Tibet. The Ministry of Emergency Management and the State Fire and Rescue Administration dispatched 111 fire rescue fighters from the Chinese rescue team, carrying equipment and materials such as investigation, life saving, demolition, communications, and security, to the disaster site for reinforcements. The Chinese rescue team consists of professional search and rescue forces from the Beijing Fire and Rescue Corps and the Sichuan Fire and Rescue Corps, and has participated in rescue work for major disasters many times.
