On August 25, the Network Information Office of the Shanghai Municipal Committee organized a mid-year cybersecurity coordination mechanism meeting to analyze and judge the current cybersecurity situation, report on the handling of hidden cybersecurity risks in the first half of the year, summarize the results of key special actions, and deploy key tasks for the next phase. Comrades in charge of the Internet Information Office of each district committee and relevant bureaus attended the meeting. The conference reported on the progress of the “Enhancing the Cybersecurity Protection Capabilities of Enterprises” special action. The campaign focuses on strengthening enterprise cybersecurity awareness, compacting principal responsibilities, and filling up industry shortcomings. It targets key areas such as small and medium-sized enterprises, key industries, and livelihood services. It guides enterprises to improve security management systems, upgrade technical protection measures, standardize emergency response procedures, and promote the transformation of enterprise cybersecurity protection from passive response to active defense through precise measures such as compliance publicity, investigation of hidden hazards, free cyber security consultations, and technical support. The next step is to improve the normalized support mechanism, optimize the supply of security services, and comprehensively improve the overall level of enterprise network security protection. The conference summed up the results of the “Cybersecurity Training into Streets and Towns” project. The purpose of this action is to promote the extension of cybersecurity lines to the grassroots level and effectively enhance the risk identification, investigation of hidden hazards, and emergency response capabilities of frontline workers at the grassroots level. At present, 18 training sessions have been completed in 16 districts of the city, with a total of 1,685 units and enterprises, and 2020 participants. The next step will be to deepen “learning through practice, promote construction through training”, continue to broaden the coverage of training, clear the “last mile” of cybersecurity training, and effectively establish a grass-roots cybersecurity defense line.
