Celebrations may be in order for FM Mattsson AB (publ) (STO:FMM B) shareholders, with the covering analyst delivering a significant upgrade to their statutory estimates for the company. The consensus estimated revenue numbers rose, with their view now clearly much more bullish on the company's business prospects. The market seems to be pricing in some improvement in the business too, with the stock up 8.2% over the past week, closing at kr94.80. It will be interesting to see if this latest upgrade is enough to kickstart further buying interest in the stock.
Following the upgrade, the current consensus from FM Mattsson's solo analyst is for revenues of kr2.5b in 2026 which - if met - would reflect a sizeable 21% increase on its sales over the past 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are presumed to climb 18% to kr4.74. Prior to this update, the analyst had been forecasting revenues of kr2.1b and earnings per share (EPS) of kr4.32 in 2026. The most recent forecasts are noticeably more optimistic, with a nice gain to revenue estimates and a lift to earnings per share as well.

Looking at the bigger picture now, one of the ways we can make sense of these forecasts is to see how they measure up against both past performance and industry growth estimates. It's clear from the latest estimates that FM Mattsson's rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with the forecast 21% annualised revenue growth to the end of 2026 noticeably faster than its historical growth of 1.8% p.a. over the past five years. Compare this with other companies in the same industry, which are forecast to grow their revenue 7.6% annually. It seems obvious that, while the growth outlook is brighter than the recent past, the analyst also expect FM Mattsson to grow faster than the wider industry.
The biggest takeaway for us from these new estimates is that the analyst upgraded their earnings per share estimates, with improved earnings power expected for this year. Fortunately, the analyst also upgraded their revenue estimates, and our data indicates sales are expected to perform better than the wider market. Given that the analyst appears to be expecting substantial improvement in the sales pipeline, now could be the right time to take another look at FM Mattsson.
Even so, the longer term trajectory of the business is much more important for the value creation of shareholders. At least one analyst has provided forecasts out to 2028, which can be seen for free on our platform here.
