Simply Wall St · 2d ago

Insiders who bought AU$461.9k worth of CONNEQT Health Limited's (ASX:CQT) stock at an average buy price of AU$0.04 over the last year may be disappointed by the recent 12% decrease in the stock. Insiders invest with the hopes of seeing their money grow in value over time. However, as a result of recent losses, their initial investment is now only worth AU$173.2k, which is not what they expected.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At CONNEQT Health

The Co-Founder & Executive Chairman Niall Charles Cairns made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for AU$280k worth of shares at a price of AU$0.04 each. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being AU$0.015). Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when insiders have purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price.
