ABB to Supply Distributed Control System for Liquefied Hydrogen Terminal in Japan

11:23 AM EDT, 08/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- ABB (ABBN.SW, ABB.ST) was commissioned by Kawasaki Heavy Industries to supply a distributed control system for its liquefied hydrogen supply facility in Ogishima, Japan. The Switzerland-based electrification and automation group will provide its ABB Ability System 800xA distributed control system for the Japanese company's Kawasaki LH2 Terminal, according to a Tuesday release. The demonstration phase of the terminal, which is set to be the first facility in the world designed to handle and scale liquefied hydrogen supply from pilot projects to commercial level, is anticipated to complete by 2030.
