The statement said that unidentified armed men ambushed a UNMISS patrol in Jonglei State, South Sudan, killing 2 Ethiopian peacekeepers and injuring 7 others, including 3 Ethiopian peacekeepers, 2 South Sudan National Police personnel, and 2 UNMISS civilian staff. Guterres reiterated that attacks on UN peacekeepers may constitute war crimes.
