Roche's Plasma Blood Test Bags US Approval for Alzheimer's Detection

07:52 AM EDT, 08/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Roche (RO.SW) said Monday its Elecsys pTau217 blood test secured approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to aid in identifying amyloid pathology associated with Alzheimer's disease. The single-biomarker blood test supports rule-in and rule-out assessments of amyloid pathology associated with Alzheimer's disease in individuals 55 years and older with signs, symptoms, or complaints of cognitive decline, the Swiss pharmaceutical company said. The blood test was co-developed with Eli Lilly (LLY.SW, LLY.F).
