On August 19, HKEx announced its 2026 interim results. In the first half of the year, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's revenue and other revenue reached HK$16.702 billion, up 19% year on year; profit attributable to shareholders was HK$10.568 billion, up 24% year on year; and the board of directors declared an interim dividend of HK$7.43 per share, up 24% year on year. This report card surpassed the record set in the second half of 2025 and became the highest semi-annual revenue and profit in the history of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Hong Kong Stock Exchange Chief Executive Chen Yiting said, “Thanks to the recovery in the market atmosphere, strong financing needs of companies related to technology and artificial intelligence, and the active participation of domestic and foreign investors, our spot market, derivatives market, and the Shanghai-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Exchange all hit a half-year high, fully demonstrating the resilience and importance of the Hong Kong market. The Group's commodities business is also thriving, and the volume of the London Metal Exchange has reached a half-year high.”
