According to the news, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange announced its 2026 interim results at noon. Revenue and profit hit a new half-year high, setting a new record set in the second half of 2025. Specifically, revenue and other earnings for the first half of the year were HK$16.702 billion, up 19% year on year; profit attributable to shareholders was HK$10.568 billion, up 24% year on year; and it is proposed to pay an interim dividend of HK$7.43 per share. Revenue and other earnings for the second quarter were HK$8.499 billion, up 18% year on year. Profit attributable to shareholders was HK$5.380 billion, up 21% year over year.

Goldman Sachs released a research report saying that it is expected that the stock price of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange will respond positively to its second-quarter results. Net profit for the second quarter was HK$5.4 billion, up 21% year on year and 4% month-on-month, which was 11% and 15% higher than the bank's and market expectations, respectively. Revenue (excluding investment income) was 5% higher than the bank's expectations, and investment income was also higher than the bank's expectations, driven by fair value returns from unlisted companies' investments.
