Japan's Kansai Electric Power Company and Fukui Prefectural Government released news on the 19th that the generator and reactor of Kansai Electric Power Ohi Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3 automatically shut down on the 8th due to damage to the exciter components. According to Fukui Prefecture, there are 72 diode components inside the exciter, and the fixing bolt of 1 of the diodes broke. Traces left by melting at high temperatures were also found nearby. No abnormalities were found in the generator itself.
