AI startup Temporal is rumored to be negotiating a new round of financing with a pre-investment valuation of at least US$12 billion

The Zhitong Finance App learned that, according to people familiar with the matter, AI startup Temporal Technologies Inc., is negotiating a new round of financing. This round of financing will give it a valuation of at least 12 billion US dollars before receiving new capital.

The person familiar with the matter said that the startup, which provides an open source workflow orchestration platform to help prevent failures in the operation of complex code, is discussing raising about 500 million US dollars, adding that the funding round has not yet been finalized, and the details may change.

If this financing is successfully completed, Temporal's valuation will more than double what it was in February this year. At the time, the company raised 300 million US dollars in Series D financing led by Andreessen Horowitz, and the valuation reached 5 billion US dollars.

Temporary did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

With the rise of agentic AI (Agentic AI), the value of workflow orchestration platforms to developers is becoming increasingly prominent. Temporal was founded in 2019. According to the company, customers can use its platform to continuously run agents for days or weeks without risk of downtime, while also being able to identify faulty nodes in the workflow and effectively manage computing costs.

According to people familiar with the matter, Temporary's biggest customer is OpenAI. Additionally, according to company information, its partners include startups such as AI programming company Replit and health tech company Abridge.
