On August 18, China's Guangxi Maritime Search and Rescue Center and Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Zone 1 successfully held a maritime search and rescue communication exercise. The exercise simulated that the Chinese international shipping container ship “YH” had lost control and was in distress in Vietnam's Halong waters. The two sides tested the emergency communication and collaborative handling capabilities of the maritime search and rescue forces of the two countries through procedures such as information notification, risk verification, and emergency coordination. During the exercise, the two sides successively completed subjects such as receiving and forwarding distress alarms, verifying the dangerous situation of ships in distress, coordination and notification of multinational search and rescue, and coordination of crew injuries and transportation. The entire exercise process was smooth, and communication was efficient, reflecting the search and rescue spirit of “dangerous situations are orders, time is life, unity is strength”.
