ICG's Board Backs Bluefin's Final Offer, Urges Shareholders to Vote in Favor

06:25 AM EDT, 08/18/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The independent board of Irish Continental Group (ICGC.L, IR5B.IR), or ICG, is still backing Bluefin Bidco's offer after the latter said it will not raise its bid. The Irish maritime transport group said in a Tuesday filing that its board unanimously recommends that shareholders approve the deal at the scheme meetings and the extraordinary general meeting to be held on Aug. 28. The board also rejected the opposition by shareholder Oxy Capital, stating, "the arguments made by Oxy... mischaracterize the nature of the ICG business and seek to apply valuation metrics which are not comparable or appropriate."
