OpenAI said on Monday that it has reached an agreement to obtain up to about 8 gigawatts of computing power from the Pike County park, of which the first batch of 800 megawatts is expected to be put into use by 2028. One gigawatt of electricity is enough to power up to 750,000 American homes at any one point in time.
