The “Cathay Pacific Flight 1 briefly lost connection over Europe and was visually warned by a NATO fighter jet”, which had received much attention, has now been proven to be an operational error on the part of the crew. On August 14, the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department publicly stated that it had received and completed the review of the full investigation report submitted by Cathay Pacific. The report showed that the in-flight communication equipment in the aircraft involved was operating normally. The crew of the flight involved mistakenly responded to the instructions issued by the air traffic controller for the other flight, and then adjusted the radio to an incorrect frequency. Afterwards, the relevant crew members were unable to detect the communication interruption.
