Public consultation on Hong Kong's first five-year plan ends, Xie Xiaohua: 16,000 proposed targets were received and published within September this year

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on August 14, the public consultation on Hong Kong's first five-year plan officially ended. The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Tse Siu-wah, said that the public consultation began on June 15, and the response from all sectors of the community was very enthusiastic. As of today, it has received more than 16,000 comments or suggestions from citizens and stakeholders from different sectors and backgrounds. The public is very supportive of Hong Kong's first preparation of the five-year plan.

She mentioned that everyone generally agreed that the Hong Kong Five-Year Plan will help to better grasp the situation and opportunities, so that Hong Kong can seize the opportunities brought by the combination of national and international opportunities. The Hong Kong Government has always used artificial intelligence to integrate and analyze the opinions collected. The intention of social opinions is clear, and Hong Kong generally supports Hong Kong's focus on strategic development at the national level.

She pointed out that during the public consultation period, the Hong Kong Government held more than 100 consultation meetings, of which about 30 were personally hosted by the Chief Executive. The authorities also visited other cities in the Greater Bay Area to listen to their opinions on further cooperation and development. It also indicated that in the collected opinions, they included promoting the development of “four centers and one highland” and supporting the acceleration of the development of the northern metropolitan area. There were also public concerns about various areas of people's livelihood such as housing, medical care, education, and welfare. The Hong Kong Government will continue to work tirelessly and sort out opinions. The goal is to publish Hong Kong's first five-year plan within September this year.
