Ingka Group has officially commissioned Jones Lang LaSalle to handle the disposal of its own properties in some of its shopping malls that have ceased operation in the Chinese market. Shanghai Baoshan Shopping Mall properties are on the list. The IKEA Shanghai Baoshan Mall opened in 2013 and ceased operation in 2026, receiving nearly 30 million visitors. Ikea China said that the self-owned property is located in Baoshan District, Shanghai, with a total construction area of about 105,000 square meters. Currently, the assets have been completely emptied, the property rights are clear, and it can be delivered immediately according to the current situation. In the future, the project can explore transformation into community commercial complexes, experiential consumption spaces incorporating elements of cultural tourism, or other innovative business formats.
