LG Electronics announced on Friday that it will launch a next-generation biped walking humanoid robot based on the Nvidia robotics platform in the first quarter of 2027. The South Korean tech giant said that the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding at Nvidia's headquarters in Santa Clara, California. LG Group Chairman Ku Kwang-mo and Nvidia CEO Hwang In-hoon attended the signing ceremony. The robot will be equipped with Nvidia's Jetson Thor robot chip module and developed based on Nvidia's Isaac GR00t humanoid robot basic model and the robot safety system HoloScan for Robotics. LG plans to integrate the technology and capabilities of its major subsidiaries into this robot, including LG Electronics' actuators, LG Innotek sensors, and LG Energy Solution Ltd. batteries. The two companies will also fully cooperate in the three fields of robotics, artificial intelligence factories, and mobility.
