On a rolling basis over the past 12 months, the default rate for this group of borrowers rose to 6.1% in July, up from 6% in June. For the 300 issuers that Fitch provided private equity ratings to insurance companies, the default rate fell from 9.4% in June to 8.6% in July. Among the 1,300 private equity loan borrowers mentioned above, Fitch recorded 3 private equity credit default cases in July, involving 1 additional defaulting borrower and 2 borrowers who defaulted again. In the 12 months up to July 2026, 83 borrowers defaulted, triggering a total of 105 default cases.
