The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government held the first large-scale exercise at the Hong Kong port area of Huanggang Port on the 13th to test the overall management of people and traffic flow at the port joint inspection building and public transport interchange, and prepare for the official opening of the port in the future. A number of policy bureaus, departments and agencies sent personnel to participate in this exercise, mobilizing a total of about 1,000 personnel from more than 20 departments to participate. Participants simulated traffic and traffic flow conditions at entrances and exits to test and evaluate traffic flow management, channel capacity, on-site guidance arrangements, traffic control, and various supporting measures at the Joint Inspection Building and public transport interchanges. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government stated that the early opening of the port is the common goal of the Hong Kong and Shenzhen governments, and Hong Kong will continue to cooperate closely with Shenzhen to advance all preparations at full speed. After both parties confirm that the port has the conditions for safe and smooth operation, the Guangdong and Hong Kong governments will finalize the official opening date and announce it to the public in due course.
