06:52 AM EDT, 08/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Metzler Capital Markets revised its forecasts for Infineon Technologies (IFX.F), noting the German semiconductor company's "constructive" and upgraded fiscal 2026 outlook following its third-quarter results. "Multi-year visibility is improving, as IFX expanded its order backlog sequentially by EUR5bn to approximately EUR30bn. Management provided constructive commentary on several fronts: (1) accelerating demand for AI datacenters, underpinned by new long-term customer commitments (management raised its 2026 AI outlook and indicated 2027 expectations will be materially upgraded during the Q4 print in November), (2) a cyclical market recovery gaining traction across the Auto and Industrial segments, (3) an improving pricing environment combined with enhanced operating leverage, driving margin expansion and (4) Improving competitive positioning in China across analog and power MOSFETs," analysts said Monday. "We [are] turning increasingly constructive on the company's AI datacenter opportunity, raising our expectations for the [Power & Sensor Systems] and [Green Industrial Power] segments stronger than for other business segments." As such, the research firm's fiscal 2026 sales estimate was lifted by 2.2%, while the projected EPS was cut by 10.1%. For fiscal years 2027 and 2028, both sales and EPS expectations were upwardly revised. The stock's buy rating and 93 euro price target were both left unchanged.
