The Zhitong Finance App learned that 250,000 pieces are sorted in one hour, processing 6 million pieces a day, with almost no manual intervention in the middle of unloading and loading... In Lilin Town, Zhongkai High-tech Zone, the Zhongtong Express-W (02057) Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Huizhou Transit Center has been redefining the logistics efficiency of Huizhou and even the eastern Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with a processing speed of “4,000 pieces per minute” since it was officially put into operation in June this year.

The route is “straightened”, and express shipments from five cities are sent directly from Huizhou to the whole country

Zhongtong Express Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Huizhou Transit Center (hereinafter referred to as “Huizhou Transit Center”) is a key hub project of Zhongtong Express Group in South China, covering intelligent sorting centers, integrated office buildings and living support areas. It is a comprehensive logistics base integrating express transit, warehousing services and cold chain logistics. The center has 44 first-level service outlets, including 20 in Huizhou, 9 in Dongguan, 7 in Heyuan, and 8 in Shanwei. The logistics network has fully covered all districts and counties in its jurisdiction.

“We chose to settle in Lilin, Huizhou. What we value most is the transportation hub location of Lilin.” According to Ren Xiaolei, head of the Huizhou Transit Center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area of Zhongtong Express, the Huizhou Transit Center is close to the highway and is located in the geographical geometric center of Huiyuan and Shanwei in Shenzhen, Dongguan, and can radiate five cities in the shortest path.

In the past, express shipments from Shenzhen to the five cities of Heyuan and Shanwei had to be transferred via Dongguan. Not only was the transit time low, but the operating cost was also high. Today, the Huizhou Transit Center has consolidated the business of the five cities. Express shipments are distributed directly from Huizhou to all parts of the country, and routes have been “straightened”.

Take express shipments from Huizhou to the Chaoshan region as an example. In the past, they needed to transit through Dongguan, but now they are sent directly from Huizhou, which can “ship today and arrive tomorrow morning.” According to estimates, after the Huizhou transit center was put into operation, the national average transit time increased by 5 to 8 hours.

For manufacturing enterprises and e-commerce customers in and around the Zhongkai High-tech Zone, the changes brought about by the launch of the Huizhou Transit Center are more direct.

In the past, companies needed to ship goods to Dongguan or Shenzhen, which are 30 to 50 kilometers away; today, the maximum distance to the Huizhou transit center is no more than 20 kilometers, and they can be delivered within 1 hour, and logistics costs have dropped significantly. Moreover, the Huizhou Transit Center also has a cloud storage service, so customers can store goods in the storage area in advance.

“After the consumer places an order, the goods can be loaded and shipped from the cloud warehouse to the transfer center within two hours, so that 'warehousing is moved forward, bought and dispatch'.” Ren Xiaolei introduced.

The middle link is “unmanned”, and the sorting accuracy rate is 99%

Walking into the Huizhou Transit Center, the most notable thing was its highly automated assembly line and intelligent sorting equipment.

The center is equipped with 12 automatic sorting lines for large items, as well as 4 sets of automated sorting equipment for small items, 3 sets of flippers, and 1 set of narrow belt machines, for a total of 20 pieces/set of automated sorting equipment. On the sorting line, the “six-sided scan” high-definition camera captures face-sheet information on any side of the package, transmits it to the server in real time, and instructs the balance wheel sorter to deliver the shipment to the designated route. There is no need to manually identify the address throughout the process.

“The accuracy rate of automated sorting is over 99%.” Ren Xiaolei explained that at present, only manual intervention is required during unloading, loading, and package replacement, and the intermediate transmission and sorting processes have basically been unmanned.

According to reports, the Huizhou transit center has more than 130 shipping card slots. Every day, more than 130 vehicles are sent from here to major cities across the country. About 500 9.6-meter trucks and more than 200 van trailers above 17.5 meters enter and exit the center, with an average daily traffic volume of over 800 vehicles.

Currently, the center has an average daily inbound and outbound operation volume of about 6 million items, which can reach 7 million to 8 million during peak periods. After full delivery, annual revenue is expected to exceed 2 billion yuan. Within Guangdong Province, the Huizhou Transit Center's automated processing capacity is second only to Guangzhou, ranking among the highest in the industry.

From the start of construction in December 2024 to completion in March 2025 and the official commissioning in June 2026, every step of the project construction was compact and efficient. Behind this is the dual support of efficient government services and solid industrial support for the Zhongkai High-tech Zone.

“We have experienced Zhong Kai's business environment very much since we arrived. As long as there is feedback, there must be someone dedicated to tracking and responding within a limited time.” Ren Xiaolei said that Zhongkai's solid manufacturing base provided convenience for project construction, especially in the early stages of infrastructure and equipment procurement, where most of the equipment supply can be solved locally.

At the same time, the Huizhou Transit Center has also created real employment opportunities in the region. Currently, the center has 1,000 fixed operators and 500 mobile drivers, for a total of 1,500 people. Of these, 800 are locally recruited, and the surrounding residents have truly achieved “doorstep employment”.

“We will take root in Huizhou, improve customer service in Huizhou, and continue to expand, expand, and deepen Zhongtong's business format.” Ren Xiaolei said that Huizhou Transit Center Phase II has planned to build an intelligent equipment manufacturing center and will continue to increase investment in automation and intelligence. At the same time, the center will further utilize its location advantages, improve logistics timeliness, fully unleash project potential, and gather e-commerce warehousing, cold chain and other related business formats.
