On August 6, local time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile issued separate statements stating that the two sides had exchanged diplomatic notes, officially resumed consular relations between the two countries, and decided to establish mutual consulates general in the capitals of the two countries. The two sides also reached an agreement on the next stage of work, which will gradually advance the full normalization of bilateral relations.
