The Zhitong Finance App learned that on August 5, the China National Drug Administration Drug Evaluation Center (CDE) official website announced that the marketing application for doravirine iratravir tablets (doravirine/islatravir, DOR/ISL) declared by MSD (MRK.US) has been accepted. According to CDE's official website, the product has previously been included in the priority review. The proposed indications are: as a complete dual-drug treatment plan to treat adult HIV-1 infection, it is suitable for patients receiving stable antiretroviral treatment to achieve virological suppression (HIV-1 RNA<; 50 copies/ml), have no history of antiviral treatment failure, and have no known mutations related to doravirin resistance to replace their current antiretroviral treatment plan.

According to public information, doravirin is an oral non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. It blocks HIV-1 virus replication by binding to the HIV-1 virus's reverse transcriptase to prevent the HIV-1 virus from converting RNA into DNA. It has been approved in the US and China to treat adults infected with HIV-1. Iratravir, on the other hand, is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase translocation inhibitor (NRTTI), which has transcriptase and translocation inhibitory effects (can prevent nucleotide binding and incorporation into the DNA chain, leading to immediate chain termination) and delayed chain termination (can prevent nucleotide incorporation even in the case of translocation).
