04:46 AM EDT, 08/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- China Mineral Resources Group, or CMRG, has told some steel mills to pause shipment negotiations with Rio Tinto Group (RIO.L) for cargoes from September onward, Reuters reported Thursday, citing two sources with knowledge of the matter. The Chinese state-owned iron ore trader's move comes as current annual supply deals are in the run-up to their expiry, the sources said, according to the report. Mining group Rio Tinto did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
