On July 23, the “Tianshan-2026” joint cyber anti-terrorist exercise was held in Urumqi, Xinjiang, by the competent authorities of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Member States sent delegations to participate in the exercise, and the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Agency provided relevant assistance for the exercise. This exercise closely follows the new characteristics of globalization, networking, and intelligence in current terrorist activities, and sets up actual combat scenarios for the “three forces” using the Internet to carry out disruptive activities, simulating situations where an international terrorist organization uses the Internet to spread terrorist, separatist, and extremist ideas, lurking recruitment, and planning and carrying out terrorist attacks within SCO member countries. All actors worked closely together to quickly investigate cyber risks, target suspected targets, and strongly support offline handling of arrests.
