Allegedly, “the missile hit the target and forced the tanker to return.” The Houthis said in a statement that the attack was part of implementing the “ban on maritime shipping” against Saudi Arabia and implementing measures to “respond to the blockade with a blockade.” The Houthis “will continue to monitor the movements of all Saudi oil tankers and will not allow Saudi oil tankers to pass through the north-south route in the Red Sea until the relevant blockade is lifted.” Earlier in the day, the Houthis also claimed to have launched a missile attack on a Saudi oil tanker near the Saudi Red Sea port city of Yanbu. The Saudi side has yet to confirm these two incidents. A Houthi spokesman did not specify the exact time of the attack.
