According to the news, on August 5, Eli Lilly announced financial results for the second quarter of 2026. The company achieved revenue of $22.97 billion, up 48% year over year, higher than market expectations of $20.59 billion; adjusted earnings per share (non-GAAP EPS) reached $8.38, up 33% year over year, far exceeding analysts' expectations of $6.31.

The company's net profit was US$7.1 billion, compared to US$5.66 billion in the same period last year. Affected by acquisition-related expenses, GAAP earnings per share during the reporting period were $7.94, including transaction related expenses of $3.03 per share; after excluding one-time factors such as adjustments in intangible asset values, adjusted earnings per share reached $8.38.

Eli Lilly further raised its full-year performance forecast. It is estimated that the full year revenue for 2026 will be between 85 billion and 87 billion US dollars, higher than the previous forecast of 82 billion to 85 billion US dollars. The company expects full-year adjusted earnings of $35.50 to $36.50 per share.

Lilly said that although transaction-related expenses dragged down the annual profit by about $3.03 per share, the company raised its underlying profit forecast by about $2.78 per share, reflecting strong growth in the core business.
