It is usually uneventful when a single insider buys stock. However, When quite a few insiders buy shares, as it happened in TKH Group N.V.'s (AMS:TWEKA) case, it's fantastic news for shareholders.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.
In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when CFO, Head of Personnel & Organization and Member of Executive Board Elling D. de Lange bought €225k worth of shares at a price of €37.35 per share. Although we like to see insider buying, we note that this large purchase was at significantly below the recent price of €43.46. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn't tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.
Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 23.64k shares worth €225k. But they sold 4.45k shares for €173k. In the last twelve months there was more buying than selling by TKH Group insiders. They paid about €9.51 on average. To my mind it is good that insiders have invested their own money in the company. However, you should keep in mind that they bought when the share price was meaningfully below today's levels.
