Tesla's Chinese vehicle system update was first introduced to the big bean bag model

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on July 31, Tesla China announced the 2026.14.13 version of the vehicle software update, covering Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X models. The main upgrades in this software update include the introduction of the Doubao Big Model: an intelligent voice assistant that not only provides real-time information, but also allows for natural and smooth conversations; supports a variety of premium sounds, can be matched with personalized characters such as “Mastercard,” “Music Enthusiast,” and “Story Club,” and requires the launch of advanced in-vehicle entertainment services to use this function.

People familiar with the matter revealed that the function was integrated in the form of an independent app, which was deeply optimized by Tesla for in-vehicle scenarios. Currently, the service has been registered, and newly delivered models and some old models are also gradually being promoted OTA.

In August 2025, Tesla reached a cooperation with Volcano Engine, a subsidiary of ByteDance, to provide large-scale model services for Tesla's smart cockpit interactive experience section. According to the latest “Tesla Vehicle Voice Assistant Terms of Use” on Tesla China's official website, the Tesla Model's vehicle voice system will simultaneously connect to ByteDance's “Doubao Big Model” and DeepSeek Chat by Deep Search. Both models are connected through Volcano Engines.

Among them, the large Doubao model will assume voice command functions, such as navigation settings, media playback control, air conditioning temperature adjustment, etc., and will also support voice search for car owner manuals; DeepSeek will provide AI interactive functions; on Tesla models that support AI interaction capabilities, car owners can chat with voice assistants to obtain information such as weather and news.
