In 2023, the renovation and expansion project for the Xingha section and the Hatu section began. The total mileage of the project was 537 kilometers, and the design speed was 120 km/h. In order to further improve traffic efficiency, Xinjiang abolished toll gates on the Xingha section and the Hatu section to help vehicles pass quickly. At the same time, it is also equipped with windproof facilities and a high wind warning system to improve travel safety and comfort. According to the Transportation Department of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, up to now, Xinjiang has three expressway passages into and out of Xinjiang: the G7 Beijing-Xin Expressway, the G30 Lianhuo Expressway, and the Yitung Brak to Ruoqiang Expressway. All cities have achieved full highway coverage, and the highway traffic mileage has exceeded 8,000 kilometers.
