British American Tobacco's H1 Profit Slips; Revenue Up

02:28 AM EDT, 07/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- British American Tobacco (BATS.L) said Thursday that attributable profit for the first half declined, while revenue edged up year over year. Profit attributable to owners of the parent for the six months ended June 30 was 3.19 billion pounds sterling, compared with 4.51 billion pounds earlier. EPS moved to 1.453 pounds from 2.036 pounds. Adjusted EPS at constant exchange rate was up 7.9% to 0.1678 pound. The London-listed tobacco company's revenue was 12.24 billion pounds, compared with 12.07 billion pounds a year ago. For 2026, the company affirmed its expectations for its revenue growth to reach the lower end of its 3% to 5% medium-term guidance range. The company also anticipates its adjusted profit from operations growth to be at the lower end of its 4% to 6% outlook. Meanwhile, adjusted EPS growth is now expected around the midpoint of its 5% to 8% guidance range for the medium term.
