COSCO HAIFA (02866) plans to spend 7.92 billion yuan to acquire a total of 15 ships

According to the Zhitong Finance App, COSCO Haifa (02866) announced that on July 29, 2026, the company signed a second shipbuilding contract in 2026 to acquire a total of 15 ships. The total contract price is about 7.92 billion yuan (excluding tax). The ships are expected to be delivered in batches in 2030.

Among them, the group signed the second Chinese shipbuilding contract in 2026 with Shanghai Waigaoqiao and China Shipbuilding Industry (both member companies of China Shipbuilding Group), involving the construction of a total of ten 210,000 DWT bulk carriers, with a total contract price of about RMB 5.28 billion (excluding tax); the 2026 Xiamen Xiangyu Shipbuilding Contract with Nantong Xiangyu and Xiamen Shipping Trading (all member companies of Xiamen Xiangyu Group) relates to the construction of a total of 5.21 million DWT bulk carriers, with a total contract price of about RMB 2.64 billion (excluding tax) fee).

On the same day, the Board reviewed and approved that after delivery of the relevant target ships III and IV, the Group (as owner/lessor) will provide leasing services to Huifeng Shipping Co., Ltd. (as charterer/lessee) for target ships III and IV to be built under the second shipbuilding contract in 2026. The lease period for each ship will be 20 years ± 120 days from the date of delivery of the relevant ship.

According to the announcement, through the second shipbuilding contract in 2026 and the transaction under the second ship leasing arrangement in 2026, the company will further develop the cooperative advantages of industry and finance, enhance the scale and quality of the company's ship assets, improve the company's large-scale bulk carrier asset layout, consolidate the foundation for the development of the company's ship leasing business, contribute to long-term stable revenue and cash flow, improve the company's overall financial soundness, and enhance the company's sustainable development momentum.
