Glencore Sees Rise in H1 Copper Production; Cobalt, Zinc, Gold Output Falls

02:30 AM EDT, 07/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Glencore (GLEN.L, GLN.JO) said Wednesday its first half production from own sources increased for copper and silver, while output for all other commodities fell year over year. Copper production rose to 397,000 tonnes from 343,900 tonnes, and silver production increased to 9.3 million ounces from 9.1 million ounces. Cobalt production plunged to 10,200 tonnes from 18,900 tonnes, zinc production fell to 365,600 tonnes from 465,200 tonnes, lead output decreased to 83,800 tonnes from 90,900 tonnes, and nickel production declined to 35,800 tonnes from 36,600 tonnes. Gold production shrank to 168,000 ounces from 301,000 ounces, and chrome ore output decreased to 1.6 million tonnes from 1.7 million tonnes. Steelmaking coal production fell to 13.5 million tonnes from 15.7 million tonnes, and energy coal production declined to 47.4 million tonnes from 48.3 million tonnes.
