The insurance industry across the region has paid more than 1.5 billion yuan in compensation for disasters such as earthquakes, torrential rain, and typhoons. Among them, 253 million yuan was paid for the earthquake disaster in Liuzhou, including 252 million yuan from the Comprehensive Livelihood Insurance; 1.18 billion yuan has already been paid for the floods in Hengzhou, Guigang, Qinzhou and other places in Nanning caused by the recent typhoon “Mesak”, of which 410 million yuan was paid for agricultural insurance and 690 million yuan for vehicle insurance.
