Electric Investment Green Energy's 3,750 tons of “Hydrogen Island · Green Ammonia” sailed offshore from Lianyungang to South Korea on the same day, setting a record for the world's largest single batch of green ammonia exports. This is also the first time that China's green fuel has been recognized for its green value in the international market by contributing to carbon emission reduction throughout the life cycle. All green ammonia products exported this time were produced by the China Power Investment Corporation's “Hydrogen Chau Da'an Green Ammonia” demonstration project. As a national clean and low-carbon hydrogen energy demonstration project and the “Top 100 Projects” for strategic emerging industries, the project was completed and put into operation in July 2025. It is equipped with 800,000 kilowatts of new energy and can produce 32,000 tons of green hydrogen and 180,000 tons of green ammonia per year. Currently, the carbon intensity index of the International Maritime Organization is becoming stricter, the EU carbon emissions trading system fully covers the shipping sector, and demand for the global traceable and verifiable green fuel market continues to rise. As a core carrier with the dual properties of green fuel and clean industrial raw materials, green ammonia is becoming a key racetrack for the global energy transition to low carbon.
