The National Development and Reform Commission held a special press conference today. Relevant officials explained that the cumulative number of trains operated between China and Europe has exceeded 130,000, and the delivery value has exceeded 520 billion US dollars. According to reports, the categories of goods transported by China-Europe trains have covered 53 categories and more than 50,000 varieties, and the share of goods transported in the volume of goods trade between China and Europe is increasing year by year. In June of this year, Europe was swept by a record-breaking heatwave. The highest temperature reached 40 degrees Celsius, and demand for air conditioning and refrigeration exploded. The local supply of air conditioners was in short supply. Air conditioning manufacturers switched supply channels from sea to China-Europe trains, and the transportation cycle was reduced from 40 days to about 15 days, creating a “fast track” for trade between China and Europe. At present, the China-Europe train has laid out 96 operating routes, forming a multi-channel pattern between North, China, and South overseas, reaching 236 cities in 26 European countries, and building a channel network with smooth, efficient, multi-directional extension, and land and sea connectivity.
