At the end of June, the balance of various local and foreign currency deposits¹ in the Yangtze River Delta region was 91.89 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.3% over the previous year. Among them, RMB deposit balance was RMB 88.8 trillion, up 8.2% year on year; foreign currency deposit balance was US$454.5 billion, up 14.4% year on year. In the first half of the year, RMB deposits in the Yangtze River Delta region increased by 4.67 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 165.6 billion yuan. Among them, household sector deposits increased by 2.02 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 859.7 billion yuan; non-financial enterprise deposits increased by 1.61 trillion yuan, an increase of 680.1 billion yuan; fiscal deposits increased by 305.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 41.4 billion yuan; and deposits of non-banking financial institutions increased by 515.5 billion yuan, an increase of 62.5 billion yuan over the previous year. In June, RMB deposits decreased by 413.6 billion yuan, an increase of 1.78 trillion yuan over the same period last year.
