According to official measurements from the China Earthquake Network, at 11:16 and 11:34 this morning, two consecutive earthquakes occurred within 20 minutes in Xinghai County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai. The magnitude of the earthquakes was 5.7 and 5.8, respectively. The epicenters of the two earthquakes were 1 km apart and 18 minutes apart. They were all within Xinghai County. After the earthquake occurred, the reporter learned from the Propaganda Department of the Hainan State Committee that after verification, the entire area of Xinghai County was strongly felt, while neighboring Gonghe County, Guide County, Guinan County, and Tongde County all felt significant earthquakes. Among them, the earthquake was strong in Upper Village, Nakamura, and Shimomura in Tang Naihai, which are close to the epicenter. Currently, communications, electricity supply, and road traffic are operating normally in Xinghai County. At the time of press release, no reports of casualties or major property damage had been received. After the earthquake occurred, the Qinghai Fire and Rescue Corps immediately launched an emergency response plan. A total of 7 medium land search and rescue teams and 1 combat support team rushed to the epicenter. A total of 603 fighters, 19 search and rescue dogs, 190 fire engines, and more than 49,000 sets of equipment and materials were assembled. The Hainan Detachment and Xinghai Brigade dispatched a total of 7 vehicles and 29 people from the former surprise team to investigate the epicenter and surrounding areas; up to now, no people have been trapped at the scene, and no earthquake-related alarms have been received.
