The Bank of Korea released data on Monday. Driven by an increase in US dollar savings, the size of South Korea's foreign currency deposits rose for the third month in a row in June. According to Bank of Korea data, domestic residents' foreign currency deposit balance reached US$113.333 billion at the end of June, an increase of US$1.08 billion over the previous month. The indicator has continued to rise since April. Residents include Korean citizens, foreigners who have lived in Korea for more than half a year, and foreign-funded enterprises. The data does not include interbank deposits.
