Li Guoying pointed out that typhoon No. 12 of this year, “Hongxia,” will land along the coast from Hong Kong to Guangdong's Lufeng from the night of July 25 to the early morning of the 26th. It has outstanding characteristics such as high landing intensity, carrying enough water vapor, wide impact range, and long duration. Affected by this, it is predicted that from July 25 to 30, some major rivers in the Pearl River, Yangtze River, Huai River, Yellow River, and Haihe River will experience significant water rise. Numbered floods may occur in the East River in the Pearl River Basin; there is a high risk of early rainfall, soil saturation, high risk of flash floods, and frequent floods in small and medium rivers; due to the combined effects of wind, rain, and tides, some tide level stations along eastern Guangdong and southern Fujian will exceed the warning.
