SK Hynix is speeding up construction of its Cheongju P&T7 advanced semiconductor packaging plant, bringing the opening of its first clean room about three months ahead of schedule. According to industry insiders on July 23, SK Hynix currently expects to open its first clean room in P&T7 as early as July 2027. The company had previously announced its target for October 2027. An industry source revealed, “SK Hynix recently initiated early bidding for P&T7 cleanroom utilities and infrastructure projects. The company internally anticipates that the cleanroom will be put into operation about a quarter earlier than originally planned.” Some of the equipment-related tenders failed to attract bidders and are currently being re-published. Industry insiders expect all utility infrastructure tenders to be completed around August at the latest.
