The China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers Joint Statement on Addressing the Impact of the Evolution of the Middle East Situation on the Region and Strengthening Regional Energy Cooperation: Welcoming the ongoing diplomatic contacts, including the negotiation process between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran mediated by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the State of Qatar and supported by other parties concerned, calling on all parties concerned to adhere to multilateralism, uphold sincere dialogue, and promote a peaceful and lasting settlement of the conflict through diplomatic channels in accordance with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and international law. We emphasize the importance of maintaining peace, stability and prosperity in the region and abiding by international law. We urge all parties to coexist peacefully, exercise maximum restraint, fully and immediately cease hostilities on all fronts in the Middle East, respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, protect civilians and civilian infrastructure during armed conflicts, ensure smooth access to humanitarian aid, avoid any actions that may increase tension, and create favorable conditions for the full and effective implementation of the cease-fire.
