Topological photonic waveguides are a key enabling technology for next-generation photonic quantum computation, high-speed optical communication, and highly integrated photonic integrated circuits. Southeast University's Millimeter Wave National Key Laboratory, in collaboration with research teams from Nanjing University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, recently made important original progress, proposed and realized a novel insulator-free topological photonic waveguide to construct a multi-channel “highway” of topological photons. The relevant research results were published in the “Nature” magazine on July 22.
