06:03 AM EDT, 07/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Swiss generic drugmaker Sandoz Group (SDZ.SW) said it will pursue discussions with stakeholders and policymakers after US President Donald Trump's proposal to raise the tariff rate on generic medicine imported into the US to 100% in 2028 and 200% thereafter. In a statement to MT Newswires on Tuesday, Sandoz said it is too early to gauge the potential impact on its manufacturing or investment decisions as the details on the implementation and scope of the measure have yet to be laid out. "We share the goal of improving affordability and access to medicines in the United States. Generics and biosimilars already make a significant contribution to lowering healthcare costs and helping ensure patient access to treatment," Sandoz added.
