09:24 AM EDT, 07/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Airbus (AIR.PA) will launch a new flight-test campaign to evaluate high-span wing designs for future single-aisle aircraft as part of its Wing of Tomorrow research program. The European aircraft manufacturer will design, build, and test wing extensions over the next three years to assess different configurations aimed at maximizing aerodynamic efficiency and reducing fuel burn, according to a Tuesday release. The wing extensions will be assembled at Airbus' Wing Technology Development Centre in the UK and flight-tested on an A321neo aircraft in Toulouse, France.
