11:14 AM EDT, 07/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission on Monday published guidelines on how artificial intelligence systems providers can comply with the transparency obligations of the European Union's AI Act. Under the rules, users must be informed when they are directly interacting with AI, according to a same-day release. AI providers operating across the bloc are also mandated to add machine-readable marks to detect any content generated or manipulated using AI. The implementation of transparency requirements is set to begin Aug. 2.
